Sam Shalala

As the owner of Pro Technik, Inc. the largest independent Porsche repair facility in the southwest, Sam spent twenty years specializing in Porsche's. He learned not only how to fix them, he also learned how to make them go fast.

Sam got into racing over 20 years ago running his Porsche 911 in the Porsche Club of America driving events, and grew into the game as an owner as well as a crew member, driving instructor, and crew chief. Built his own race car in 1990 and started racing IMSA/Sportscar Series in 1992.

He held the track record at Texas World Speedway for a Porsche powered car, and professionally has over 100 podium finishes to his credit as a driver. He has finished second in IMSA's 24 Hours of Daytona, fourth at the 12 Hours of Sebring and numerous top five finishes.

An excellent driver, a dedicated owner, Sam puts forth a winning effort at all times, on and off the track, and is a favorite with both the public and the press.

Dick Sanger

Dick was a customer of Sam’s for over 4 years and was so impressed that he joined Pro Technik, Inc. An avid Touring, Sport and Rally driver he averages about 40,000 miles a year and has logged over 350,000 miles in his Porsches. Between Sam and Dick they represent well the interests of Pro Technik’s customers be they Street, Sport or Racing.

 

Steve Misner

Steve is a Master engine builder and a mechanical wizard who has been building our team’s engines since 1987. He has distinct insight into how to make a racecar go fast and finish races. He has been a vital part of every race since 1987.

More than just an engine builder and outstanding racing mechanic, Steve has the unique ability to translate how a driver communicates after a practice run into increased speed by making the proper changes to the car.

Steve’s unique abilities have led him to create engine-building innovations to increase engine Torque while preserving engine longevity. Many customers have been amazed to find that upon opening an engine after 50 hours expecting to rebuild the engine the engine entirely, it was still virtually new and so they would continue to run them successfully long past the usual rebuild period.

Steve works tirelessly to ensure that every team car is race ready and shepherds them thru the vagaries of each race successfully dealing with whatever comes up. Our many podium finishes are a testament to Steve’s genius.
